I am writing to personally thank you for all your prayers for James and I as we have waited for our R1 VISA. It has been a long journey of faith, trusting and waiting upon the Lord. You have prayed for us and sent many encouraging notes, and we are grateful.
Monday morning (April 9th), we found ourselves traveling back up to Ontario to meet with Immigration. We had been told many different things by many different agents. We knew God was in control but as we met with Immigration, I will admit, there were 'butterflies' fluttering! As we stood before the US Customs official he seemed pleased that all documentation was in order. He then proceeded to tell us that everything could be taken care of in Port Huron, Michigan and that a trip to Toronto was unnecessary. We were relieved. He said it was a simple process and everything could be taken care of within an hour.
After talking with the US agent we crossed over into Ontario to see family and to ask for more prayer as we made the return trip yesterday, Wednesday (April 11) to Kalamazoo, Michigan. As we crossed the border we were asked to park our car and to take all our documentation into US Customs. The agents were all very professional and courteous. They do look a bit intimidating, though. We have been through many border checks around the world in the past 15 years, and the US agents do their job very well! Within an hour, both of our passports had an R1 VISA for James, and an R2 VISA for myself stapled into our books. After 11 months, the coveted VISA was issued :).
We know that God's hand has been in this process from the beginning. There were times that we wondered WHEN God's hand would move, but we know that He is Good and Faithful.
It has been fun to celebrate with all at WWLAB, and the celebration would not be complete without thanking you for your prayers and support.
James and Cindy Borody.
